The city of Porto is preparing to welcome a new landmark in its tourism and hotel offering by the second quarter of 2026. The operation that will give rise to the Debrais Boutique Hotel, promoted by the company Valores de Três, Lda. and co-financed by COMPETE 2030, represents the ambition to create a 5-star hotel on the prestigious Avenida da Boavista. More than just a luxury development, this project aims to be a symbol of sophistication, innovation and gastronomic excellence, putting Porto on the map as a destination of choice for discerning travellers.

Solid investment with European support

With a total investment of around €11.6 million, the operation received 40% co-financing of the eligible amount through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). For Miguel Pérez, who is responsible for the project, the support of COMPETE 2030 was crucial:

‘The support of COMPETE 2030 was fundamental to the decision to go ahead with an innovative project of this magnitude, bringing greater confidence to all stakeholders.’

Design and comfort in the heart of Boavista

The Debrais Boutique Hotel will be spread over 10 floors, two of which are underground, and will include 52 rooms. The privileged location, elegant architecture and interior decoration, designed by renowned Spanish architect Diego Rodriguez, reflect a clear commitment to sophistication and differentiation.

Aimed at a discerning clientele, the hotel seeks to attract a variety of guests: from gastronomic and cultural travellers to environmentally conscious tourists and business professionals.

Michelin-starred haute cuisine

The highlight of the Debrais Boutique Hotel will be its signature restaurant, managed by renowned international chef Ramón Freixa, who holds two Michelin stars at his restaurant in Madrid. Open to the public and not exclusively to guests, the gastronomic space will have its own identity and tasting menus prepared with local and seasonal ingredients.

The goal is clear:

‘To obtain at least one Michelin star for the restaurant within two years.’

This positioning reinforces the hotel’s aim to become a benchmark for tourists who value excellent culinary experiences, thus creating a world-class attraction in the heart of Porto.

Sustainability and innovation as pillars

Debrais Boutique Hotel also stands out for its commitment to environmental sustainability, investing in the installation of photovoltaic panels, charging stations for electric vehicles, electric bicycles and an integrated energy management system, with a view to significantly reducing its ecological footprint.

The focus on technology and the digitalisation of services is also one of the central pillars of the project. Through mobile applications and integrated artificial intelligence solutions, customers will be able to plan and manage their entire stay without any face-to-face contact, from booking to check-out.

‘The total dematerialisation of processes is planned, with all services being provided digitally and in a personalised manner.’

Economic impact and regional ambition

With an estimated annual turnover of more than €5 million and the creation of around 48 direct jobs, Debrais Boutique Hotel will be a driver of local and regional development.

As Miguel Pérez sums up, ‘this hotel, in addition to promoting the urban regeneration of the city of Porto, wants to position itself as an icon of luxury and well-being in the region.’

Combining excellent design, cutting-edge technology, environmental awareness and high-level gastronomy, Debrais Boutique Hotel promises to be more than just accommodation: it will be a memorable experience that aims to achieve national and international recognition — with a Michelin star as one of its first milestones.
